NCC Directorate Gujarat hosted the Inaugural NCC Alumni Meet, on 01 Feb 2026. Air Marshal Tejinder Singh AVSM, PVSM, VM, AOC-in-C, South Western Air Command, flagged off the NCC Unity March, comprising of over 800 Alumni, Cadets, civil and military dignitaries, in the backdrop of the Sabarmati River. Air Marshal Tejinder Singh, himself an alumni of NCC, commended the immense contribution of NCC in Nation Building, as well as shaping his personal & professional life. Along the picturesque Riverfront and iconic Atal Bridge, NCC Cadets established a number of Kiosks , where they briefed and performed on the diverse facets of NCC activities like adventure, community service, social awareness and training. Later in the day, the NCC alumni shared their experiences and were felicitated in a sterling ceremony at Law Garden,
by Justice Alpesh Y. Kogje, High Court Gujarat and Lt Gen Asit Mistry PVSM, AVSM, SM, VSM (Retd), both distinguished alumni of Gujarat NCC.
Major General Bimal Monga SM, VSM, Additional Director General, NCC Directorate Gujarat, addressed the media and highlighted that 85000 cadets from all the 34 districts of Gujarat including border & coastal regions, and UT of Daman, Diu, Dadra and Nagar Haveli are being trained by NCC every year. This number will increase to 1 lakh 15 thousand over the next six years. In addition, there are more than one million NCC alumni in Gujarat, at present. It is worth noting the large number of cadets, families and the overall society, being continuously impacted positively by NCC.
He assured that the NCC remains fully committed in instilling a sense of discipline, camaraderie, adventure & unity amongst the cadets; the overarching aim being to transform the young cadets into model citizens, who will contribute and lead us to a Sashakt & Viksit Bharat.
